How did it all start...

So...after so long...Who IS this person behind all of this food?

Hello Everyone, I am Gloria and I am a University student based in Vancouver, BC. When I'm not studying, going to lectures, or busing for 4 hours to school, I am a foodie who enjoys dining out at various establishments in the city and elsewhere. I also like to cook. In fact, I am the one who cooks in the family!

I started blogging in my Grade 12 year in high school. In my English class, we were given an assignment to blog about a variety of topics given by the teacher, to be posted online every week for marking. Desperate for an A (I have to admit, I am a so called "try-hard"), I gave it my best shot and poured my soul onto each post. Thankfully, the teacher liked my blog and even recommended me to continue blogging...which is why we are here today :)

Blogging, cooking, and dining has since been one of my passions. I will only continue to keep on sharing what I love to do and hopefully improve both my blogging, dining, and cooking skills as time goes on!

Healthy SEA (Salmon, Egg, and Avocado) Sandwich

For health conscious individuals! This week I had the chance to make smoked salmon and scrambled egg sandwich with avocado for lunch. See below for recipe! Ingredients: 3 large eggs 2 tablespoons of milk Salt and Pepper 1 stalk of scallions, chopped 4 slices of whole wheat bread 1/4 onion, chopped 2 cloves of garlic, minced 6-7 slices of smoked salmon olive oil garlic mayonaise 2 avocados Instructions : In a frying pan, sauté garlic, onions, and scallions over medium heat until translucent. In a bowl, beat eggs and mix milk and salt and pepper. Pour the egg mixture in the pan, folding the egg mixture in as the egg coagulates. Transfer the egg to a plate once finished. Toast 6 slices of whole wheat bread in a toaster for 2-4 minutes. Cut 2 avocados into 3-4 slices each and set aside. Once bread is toasted to your preference, spread garlic mayo. Add a few slices of smoked salmon and egg until bread is  completely  covered. Finally, add 4 slices of a...

Whistler Features: MOOOOOOOO!

On a hot sunny day next to mother nature, one can only imagine relaxing under the trees...eating ice cream! ...At least that was me. While on my trip in Whistler, I had a chance to stop by their specialty ice cream store: Cows. Cows is nothing like your ordinary ice cream shop. It has a central utter theme to it. Nearly EVERYTHING in the shop is Cow related. Take this "Moovenger" shirt for example. I killed myself laughing with all the Cow puns in the store. Since Cows is famous for their ice cream, I decided to try their Oreo Cookie Ice Cream and Cookie Dough Ice Cream. I finally understood why there are always long line ups for ice cream out the door. The ice cream was DELICIOUS! It was soft enough to eat, yet hard enough to retain its perfect spherical shape. I also loved how their ice cream contains just the right amount of Oreo cookies and cookie dough. Many ice cream shops often serve ice cream with too little toppings mixed in. Another great perk of Cows is that ...

Popbar: Sweet Treats on a Stick

After a nice biking trip around Vancouver, I took the skytrain to Popbar at Metrotown to enjoy a small treat. Popbar is an unique dessert bar that sells frozen treats, from gelato to sorbets, on a stick. With many flavours to choose from, this new dessert place is the place to go on a hot, sunny day. For myself, I got the vanilla pop Gelato dipped in dark chocolate and no toppings (I like my gelato as plain as possible). And, as expected, it was DELICIOUS. The flavour was just right; not too sweet, not too milky, just enough to bring out the taste of vanilla with the crunchiness and bitterness of the dark chocolate fudge. Check out Popbar on your next sunny day out!
