Lik It Up :)

Don't worry, this blog is for all ages :)

For those of you who don't live in Vancouver, LIK N2 is a very popular liquid nitrogen ice cream store right in the heart of Downtown Vancouver. Although a relatively new establishment in the neighbourhood, this unique store offers a very casual atmosphere that allows you to enjoy a fun dessert with a buddy or two while watching the smoke spill all over their ice cream "lab" from the liquid nitrogen.

For those of you who don't know, liquid nitrogen ice cream is, well, made using liquid nitrogen to immediately freeze the ice cream while making it! Don't worry, it is safe for consumption :)

What makes LIK N2's liquid nitrogen ice cream different from other places I've been to is that each of their signature creations include a syringe where you can "shoot" some icing or chocolate into your dessert. With this amazing idea, you can control exactly how much icing or chocolate fudge you want on your ice cream. Or, if you are crazy about icing and chocolate drizzle, you can put the syringe in your mouth and eat directly from it!

Atmosphere wise, LIK N2 has a very cozy, but modern feel. However, the place can be a little bit small, considering how many people visit LIK N2 each night. Pricing wise, LIK N2 can be a little on the pricier side. This is because liquid nitrogen ice cream is not too common here in Vancouver. However, many liquid nitrogen ice cream stores are starting to appear in this area. For the taste and quality of their desserts, the price is totally worth it.

Try LIK N2 next time you are in town!

Midweek Madness

Midweek is always the craziest, meaning that I have little to no time to cook. For this week's unexpected midweek dine out, I visited Banzai Sushi House to eat some sushi to fill my empty stomach. Cheap, fast, and enormous portions, this small sushi house is the place to go when you are busy, hungry, and living on a small budget (typical student life!). Were does everyone go for cheap eats? Quick and Easy Breakfast

Wow! It has been another hectic week. With the start of the new summer semester, I have been slowly adjusting to the regular routine again. However, having only one online course has proven to be a struggle when it comes to getting into the rhythm of things. I go to work more often and study less than usual. I continue to go on weekend adventures and exploring different hiking trails two to three times a week. No matter how my schedule looks like, I am still VERY, very busy! With so many things to do every week and so less time, making breakfast can turn into a war zone in the kitchen. Fortunately, I discovered a fast and easy breakfast that will not only give me the energy I need for the day, but save me time in the process: Scrambled eggs style omelette and homemade hashbrowns. See below for the recipe! Ingredients 2 Eggs 1 Cup of Spinach 1 Large White Potato (Or 2 White nugget potatoes) Salt and Pepper, to taste 1/4 Onion, Sli...
